The video installation shows fragments of the indoor market KDT which, between 1999 and 2009, occupied the quadrangle of Plac Defilad in front of the Palace of Culture, in the centre of Warsaw. The building accomodated a market with over 300 garage-like shops, selling different varieties of clothes. During the course of 2010, the construction was torn down in stages.
Our work presents images of the deconstruction. Through the dismantling process, new temporary objects arise and disappear. The work traces the cycle of construction and deconstruction, a process inherent in the life of every city.
